The King of Pop-Pop

My father, affectionately known as Pop-Pop by LPP, is a Tony-nominated, Grammy award-winning singer.  Ben Brantley, chief theater critic of the New York Times, wrote the following about my father: "[He] just plants himself and opens his mouth.  What comes out of it is electrifying...The voice itself becomes a superhuman musical instrument that takes you into emotional territory that seems both exotic and hauntingly familiar."  

My father watched LPP for me one night a few weeks ago.  When I came home, he told me that he and LPP spent the night listening to songs on my iPod.  LPP was dancing and singing his little heart out.  My father began to sing along.  LPP told him, "Pop-Pop, your singing is disturbing me."  My father called my mother on the phone.  They had a good laugh.
