Keep Talking

I found this article interesting, advising parents to talk as much as possible to their babies to help with language acquisition. It talks about there being two different types of language knowledge - passive, receptive language and active, expressive language, and how it is through the passive that we learn the active. Often, we understand more than we can express (as is always true in my unending attempt to master a second language), and so it is by hearing a language constantly that babies learn to eventually speak the language. I won't spoil the article by revealing anymore, check it out.
